Will a Heartland RV air mattress work in my RV?
While Heartland RV air mattress replacements can make good temporary fixes, they’re best suited to just that — being temporary. Whether a sofa bed air mattress or a hide-a-bed air mattress, they lack durability and will often cause more problems than they solve. Your best option is an affordable and durable replacement mattress tailored to your rig.
What size mattress will fit in a Heartland RV?
The right mattress size for a Heartland depends on the model, year, and where the mattress is located. RV King and RV Queen sizes are common in larger models, and you might also come across RV Bunks or RV Fulls.
Before buying a new mattress, be sure to measure your space to get the right fit.
Can I build my own custom mattress for my Heartland RV?
You can DIY a mattress using foam from a craft store. Just measure your RV space, cut the foam to fit, and glue the layers together. While the adhesive dries, cut fabric for a cover — or just use a fitted sheet to keep it simple.
This approach can save money, but it’s time-consuming, tricky to get right, and the foam likely won’t hold up as well as professional-grade materials. Plus, without a fire barrier, your homemade mattress could pose a serious fire risk.
